Originally from from South Africa, Mark Theron runs the L& L Rum Shop on Prince William Street in Charlestown on the island of Nevis, the only Duty Free wine and liquor store on the island. His rum shop features an extensive collection of rums from the Caribbean, as well as independent bottlers from Europe and beyond.
Mark produces his own award-winning Clifton Estate spiced rum, which is a handmade, artisanal spiced rum created from two year aged dark rum being infused by hand in small batches using 100% natural ingredients.
Mark also produces the Moko Jumbie Rums for the local market.
He leads weekly rum tasting events at 101 Rums Bar at the Four Seasons Resort, offering instruction and advice to rum enthusiasts, and loves to share his enthusiasm for discovering rums.
Mark serves a judge in international rum competitions and travels to rum festivals and distilleries to update his knowledge of rum around the world. |
